This new online service is the first of its kind for the region and is designed to offer the people of Hull new options for contacting clinic staff and gaining access to timely and accurate sexual healthcare information. Service users can get fast and accurate information, arrange to attend the clinic, or arrange to have information or testing kits sent directly to their home.

A new analysis of research evidence suggests that one of the AIDS drug regimens increasingly used in developing countries and recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), may have an unacceptably high risk of failure and rate of drug resistance in patients. The study, led by the Stanford University School of Medicine, appears in the March 15 print issue of the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases. Physical violence, sexual abuse and other forms of childhood and adult trauma are major factors fueling the epidemic of HIV/AIDS among American women. Scientists have known for years that traumatized women are at greater risk of becoming infected.
Now, two new studies from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and Harvard Medical School demonstrate that a high rate of trauma among women already infected with HIV also plays a role in the epidemic.
